The End Of DTS

A couple weeks ago I received my Discipleship Training School Certificate of Completion. I am grateful beyond words for the opportunity I have had to deepen my relationship with God and pour out his love on his people in the Philippines.

During my time in the Philippines, my team and I provided kids ministries (VBS, Sunday schools, and more). We worked with a hospital ministry (praying for dialysis patients and feeding hospital patients and employees). We shared at church services, seminars, and even a revival meeting. And so much more. Every day was filled with the opportunity to bring God’s kingdom to earth.

This picture was taken while my team and I were serving a remote village in the Bicol region of the Phillipines. We played games with local children and taught worship songs. Now a few Filipinos who came with us on the trip plan to return to bring Bibles in their native language. It was incredible to witness so many children accept Christ over the course of a few days.

We also had the opportunity to run a revival meeting for Filipinos in the Bicol region. Around 400 people ended up coming! There was worship and a message, and people walked away feeling refreshed and closer to God. It was a great opportunity to partner with God and encourage His people to dig deep into their relationship with Him.

Once we arrived back in Hawaii, my team and I jumped into putting on a kid’s camp. It was our goal to have the kids walk away from camp with countless fun summer memories. And from the reports we’ve heard from these kid’s parents, they can’t wait to come back to Camp Holoholo next year!

After graduating, I have reflected on how God has changed my life over these past 6 months. I now have a stronger sense of my identity as a daughter of Christ and can view other people with the love that I know Christ has for me.

Throughout the past couple of months, I have been considering what to do after DTS. After praying and talking with my family, I have decided to return to Holoholo ministries this coming semester and volunteer to staff the next Dicipleship Training School (DTS). I would like to help others experience God’s love and compassion the same way I did during my DTS.

I will be leaving midway through August.

This decision puts me into missions full-time. Which means that I will be living completely on financial support.

Prayers are much appreciated and if you feel drawn to give financially, I am looking for 24 supporters who are willing to donate $50 a month for the next 2 years that I will be in missions.

Thank you to everyone who supported me during this school. I am eternally grateful for all of the prayers and finances.

I am also very excited to serve the ministry that is making such a big impact in Hawaii and South Asia.

With love,

Katie
