Hello friends!
As many of you know, I’m heading back to the Philippines for my third year with Holoholo, and this time, it’s for something really special.
Two years ago, I took my first solo mission trip, climbing into a small boat headed to a remote Filipino village accessible only by water. I was nervous but expectant, and when we shared the Gospel with people who rarely see outsiders, something shifted in me. Those faces have stayed with me ever since.
Last year, I returned to find the Bicol region devastated by typhoons that had affected over 15 million people. In Naga City, we held open-air evangelistic presentations for hundreds of Filipinos who had lost homes and livelihoods. We brought meals to elementary schools. And despite the destruction surrounding them, I watched children light up as we sang, performed skits, and shared testimonies. The resilience and hunger for hope I witnessed was incredible.
Now, this year brings something new: Camp Lokahi. Holoholo is launching this camp in Naga City, focused on unity and reaching Filipino youth. I’ll be staffing the camp and helping bring this vision to life, along with continuing the open-air evangelism, school visits, and community outreach you’ve heard about.
From remote villages to typhoon relief to now investing in the next generation, I can see how these three years build on each other. Each trip has deepened my calling and shown me just how powerfully God is at work in the Philippines.
Here’s where I need your help: I need to raise $3,000 by January 22nd to make this trip happen.
The good news? I already have a donor who has pledged to cover the final $500, but only if I can raise the other $2,500 first. That means every dollar you give gets us closer to unlocking that match.
I know this time of year is busy and financially tight for everyone. But if you’re able to give (whether it’s $25, $100, $250, or any amount), it would mean the world to me. And if finances are tight right now, I would be so grateful for your prayers for this trip and for the Filipino youth we’ll be serving.
The work isn’t easy. Twelve-hour bus rides, the heat, the exhaustion of week after week of ministry. But when I think about that remote village, the typhoon survivors who still showed up hungry to hear about Jesus, and the youth who will attend Camp Lokahi this year… I know this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.
Would you consider partnering with what God is doing in the Philippines?

The deadline is January 22nd, just 16 days away.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Your support (whether through prayers, encouragement, or financial partnership) is what makes this work possible.
With gratitude,
Katie Armtrong
