Dear Friends and Family,
So many of you have journeyed with us during the past 10 months. From our initial call to YWAM to our joy in being fully funded while in training. From our first landing in India to our final arrival back at JFK airport, you’ve followed us and been with us in our hearts.
Together we’ve seen lives changed. Countless children and eight adults professed saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and continue to be mentored and discipled by local pastors and laypeople. We’ve seen sick people get better and tormented people get free. And we’ve grown.
One of the things we look forward to most is sharing with you about God’s call on our lives going forward. We took the step into His mystery and calling last year without knowing where he’d lead us next. Our hearts are to be with each of you now that we’ve returned. For some, it will be a time over dinner sharing our stories and yours as we enjoy our fellowship. For others, we’ll end up over coffee and do the same. Some of you are too distant or busy, so we’ll catch up over Skype or phone calls.
We are staying with family, volunteering at the local homeless shelter, and getting ready for the next step.
As we mentioned in our previous newsletter, the Lord has called us to Germany next. Although we left pieces of our hearts in India and Israel, he’s also let us know that we are not done in those locations either.
We’ve accepted an invitation to work with the Campbell family in Berlin. Our plan is to travel there in September and stay a few months helping them set up their base of operations and evangelizing in the city.
From there we will head back to the YWAM base to serve as staff for an incoming class. There is a strong desire on the part of our Berlin hosts to have teams coming from Kona, Hawaii, to Berlin for outreach. The current vision is for us to not only lead a team from the Crossroads we’ll be staffing, but also to network on behalf of the work in Berlin, fostering relationships that will have teams coming through and serving Berlin in the years to come.
Upon our arrival back in Berlin after outreach, we’ll finally be able to settle as a family, concluding over a year of living out of suitcases. Whew!
Last year we came to all of you looking for love and support for our Discipleship Training School and outreach. Through all of you, and others, God showed his love for us and those we went to with an abundance of donations! These were primarily one-time donations, and properly so.
Now our needs have changed. Of course there are one-time expenses such as luggage and plane tickets. But as full-time missionaries, the need is now for monthly support.
