Dear friends & family,
We have the absolute pleasure of writing to tell you that God has been moving in an incredible way in our lives lately! We have felt Him strongly calling us to follow Him to a program called “Youth With a Mission”(YWAM).
This call extends back almost 12 years when as a newly married couple we responded to God’s call to take a short term missions trip to Nicaragua. This trip quickened in us a desire to serve God beyond the borders of our first-world lives.
Kids, cancer, and life in general put the mission field on hold for us. Imagine our surprise when on our 15th anniversary God re-lit that fire on the YWAM base we were vacationing near. Rather than sunning ourselves on a beach, we found ourselves drawn by the Holy Spirit to the various open offerings on that base. Praying for unreached people groups & worshiping under the stars, we clearly heard God’s call. He was calling us out of our comfort zone and into something much deeper.
We have the opportunity to follow this call to a Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Kona, Hawaii where we will be learning about God’s character and nature, how to hear His voice, growing in our knowledge of the Gospel, worship & intercession and being a disciple in God’s kingdom.
One of the most amazing parts of this experience will be the last two months. This time will be spent on an outreach phase overseas. During this time we will be putting in to practice all that we will have learned in the first three months. We will be following the call to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” Matthew 28:19.
WE ARE SO EXCITED to have this opportunity to learn more about our heavenly Father, to study His Word, and use the passions and gifts He’s given us all over the world in order for people to know His love.
It would be wonderful if you could keep this ministry and us in your prayers, because we cannot do this alone! Would you join with us in prayer for God’s blessing, protection, and provision on this trip? Would you spend time with God asking Him to reveal His calling for us after this training? Would you hold our children, Will & Katie, up in prayer as their fairly comfortable lives get turned upside down by the Holy Spirit?

Wow, that is so cool and exciting. Having left and moved and gone, there is no greater joy!! And to have your kids with you, I am absolutely loving it! I know you will too. Your story of waiting is familiar. I am glad you get to run now! Run fast, and do crazy!
