Fully Funded & On Fire For Jesus!

Katie stood in front of me, looking at the young lady about 10 yards in front of her.

“Daddy, I’m nervous” She said.

“I’ll be right here” is all I said and she was off.

I watched as she asked the young lady if she could make use of the $10 phone card we’d prayerfully purchased at the local ABC store.

I saw the affirmative nod, the warm hug, and the beaming smile on Katie’s face as she nodded back and then came over to tell me about it.

“She said she needed to call her parents but didn’t have enough minutes daddy!” she said excitedly as we walked away together.

We didn’t get more than 1/2 a block when I remembered something … “You didn’t give her one of your drawings” I said as we paused on the sidewalk that hot Wednesday afternoon.

So we retraced our steps and Katie boldly went up and offered her a sample of her best crayola craftsmanship. It was a cross made up in colorful circles. Beautiful in its own right, it represented Katie’s best that she could offer the people we try to help on our walks.

From there she was moving in the spirit. We walked by a group of homeless folks camped out on a tiny beach along the sidewalk. Three young men and a young girl with a copy of the Bhagavad Gita laying beside her.

“I think God wants me to give them one of my drawings Dad!” she whispered to me.

So we walked back over to where they were, I lifted Katie over the lava rock wall, told her she should approach the girl, and watched as she brought them an 8.5×11 sheet of copy paper emblazoned with the name of Jesus all dressed up in royal purple.

The look on the faces of the four recipients was solid gold. They were so warmed by Katie’s boldness and kindness.

Katie is running after God, we all are. Her boldness was met with grace and love by the Holy Spirit. Her excitement this afternoon when we told her we were fully funded was priceless.
